The last restaurant entry for the Milan series – save the best for the last!
I’m sure a lot of the people who travel to Milan have been to the Milan Cathedral, maybe you have taken some photos at the piazza, or even took a tour up onto the building, but I bet you may not know about this restaurant with an absolutely stunning view of the Cathedral!
The restaurant’s name is called the Obica, and is a casual Italian restaurant concept based on best Mozzarellas! Yummmm!! The Obica is a chain with many outlets thru-out Italy, as well as Internationally in UK, USA, and Japan. The outlet which I’ve visited is on the top floor of the la Rinascente department store, and gives you a great view of the Cathedral!
The seating area has an canopy, so even when the weather is not so nice, you will still be able to dine here with the view of the Cathedral. Luckily the day I went was super sunny! Though it was still quite cold and windy, however the restaurant will provide blanket when needed and heaters were also available, so it wasn’t too bad.
Since this restaurant is famous for Mozzarellas, they had many different types on offer, and at last, my friend and I ordered the Stracciatella and a pizza for sharing. The Stracciatella Mozzarella is different to the usual type of Mozzarella we have. Instead of in a ball, it is in strands/threats, the texture and taste however is quite similar to the ordinary mozzarella – chewy and creamy, and goes very well with the cherry tomatoes and basil leaves. The pizza was freshly baked, hence the crust was really crispy and the ingredients seem very fresh.
I would highly recommend those who are in Milan city to come and dine in this restaurant, because you are going to have an amazing view of the Cathedral from the usual angle, and it’s well worth it!
